Data use and licensing
The searchable directory is free for public use. Structured exports, update feeds and commercial integration support are available separately.
What can be licensed
A licence may cover normalised institutional facility facts such as facility name, category, district, province, public business contact details, coordinates, source labels and update status. It does not include patient records, private medical information, hidden analytics identifiers or personal practitioner data harvested from registers.
Third-party source rights
Source licences continue to apply. OCHA/HDX-derived records are attributed and reusable under CC BY 4.0. Google Maps or Places information is not offered as a bulk resale dataset; mapping checks are used for reconciliation and links. A commercial Hospitals.co.zw licence covers our curation, matching, identifiers, update process and support—not ownership of third-party facts.
Safe sales process
- Buyer states purpose, fields, users, territory and retention period.
- We review source restrictions, privacy risk and whether personal information is involved.
- A sample schema and data-quality statement are supplied before contract.
- The agreement defines permitted use, attribution, security, onward sharing, correction handling and deletion at termination.
- Exports are minimised and delivered through an access-controlled channel; access can be revoked.
Accuracy and responsible use
Source-listed records may be old or incomplete and must not be used alone for emergency dispatch, clinical decisions, insurance eligibility or regulatory accreditation. Licensees must preserve verification status and update/correction notices.
